The ASL or the AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE is celebrated each year on APRIL 15th.
The first school for the deaf Opened in the US on APRIL 15, 1817 which was a huge development that allowed children who were unable to hear to learn and communicate with others around them more easily. The kids mixed together Native American Signs, French Sign Language, and Martha’s Vineyard sign language until they created an English-based language called “ASL."
That gave people without vocal cords their own voice!
Take part in this celebration by learning how to understand these voiceless individuals' lives better - it's never too late. Check out https://bitly/2RDbw99 for videos teaching you how to sign.
